Privacy policy

Last updated: 18 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Precision Military Emblems (“Precision Military Emblems”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit www.precisionmilitaryemblems.com, buy from us, contact us, leave a review, or interact with us through an approved retail or supply partner.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, Precision Military Emblems is the data controller for the personal information we decide how and why to use. Our store is hosted on Shopify, which also processes personal information in connection with providing and improving Shopify services.

1. Who We Are and How to Contact Us

Trading name: Precision Military Emblems

If you have a question about this Privacy Policy or want to exercise a data protection right, please contact us using the email address above.

2. Personal Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect or process:

  • Identity and contact information, such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing address and delivery address.

  • Order and transaction information, such as products ordered, order number, delivery status, returns, refunds and payment status.

  • Account information, where you create or use a customer account.

  • Communications, including messages, enquiries, complaints, support requests and other correspondence with us.

  • Review and feedback information, where you choose to submit a product review, testimonial or other feedback.

  • Technical and usage information, such as IP address, browser or device information, cookie identifiers, pages viewed and interactions with our website.

  • Retailer, supplier and business-contact information, such as the name, work contact details and role of a person representing a retailer, supplier or other business partner.

Payment details are processed through Shopify and/or the relevant payment provider. We generally receive transaction and payment-status information rather than your complete payment card details.

We do not intentionally ask customers to provide special category personal data, such as medical information, through our normal ordering process.

3. Where We Obtain Personal Information

We may obtain personal information:

  • directly from you when you order, create an account, contact us or submit information through the website;

  • automatically when you use our website, including through cookies and similar technologies;

  • from Shopify and service providers that support our store, payments, delivery, reviews, analytics, fraud prevention or customer service;

  • from approved retailers, suppliers and other business partners; and

  • through Shopify Collective when a retailer sells a Precision Military Emblems product and information is passed to us so that we can fulfil or support that order.

4. How and Why We Use Personal Information

Under UK data protection law, we must have a lawful basis for using personal information.

Contract
We use personal information where necessary to process and fulfil orders, take payment, arrange delivery, provide customer service, handle returns or refunds and otherwise perform our obligations to you.

Legal obligation
We use personal information where necessary to keep records required by tax, accounting, consumer-protection or other laws and to respond to lawful requests from regulators or public authorities.

Legitimate interests
We may use personal information where reasonably necessary to operate and improve our business and website, prevent fraud and misuse, protect our systems, manage retailer and supplier relationships, respond to enquiries, maintain appropriate business records and understand how our services are used, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.

Consent
Where consent is required, we rely on consent for activities such as certain marketing communications and non-essential cookies or similar technologies. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Where direct electronic marketing is permitted without fresh consent under applicable UK rules, we may rely on the relevant lawful exception while always providing a clear way to opt out.

5. Shopify Collective, Retailers and Supply Partners

Precision Military Emblems works with selected retailers and may act as a supplier through Shopify Collective or other approved supply arrangements.

If you purchase a Precision Military Emblems product from one of those retailers, we may receive personal information from the retailer and/or Shopify that is reasonably necessary to fulfil and support the order. This can include your name, delivery address, contact details where needed, products ordered, order identifiers and fulfilment information.

We use personal information received through a retail partner only for legitimate purposes connected with the order or business relationship, including:

  • manufacturing, processing, packing and shipping the order;

  • providing delivery or fulfilment updates;

  • handling returns, replacements, customer-service issues or disputes;

  • preventing fraud and protecting transaction security;

  • reconciling orders and payments with the retailer; and

  • meeting legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

We do not use customer information received solely through a retail partner or Shopify Collective to add that customer to Precision Military Emblems direct marketing simply because we fulfilled their order.

We would only use that information for our own direct marketing where we have a separate lawful basis and any consent or other permission required by law.

We may share relevant fulfilment information back with the retailer and with Shopify where necessary to complete, manage or support the order.

6. Retailer, Supplier and Commercial Information

Where we deal with retailers, suppliers or other businesses, UK GDPR can apply to information about identifiable individuals acting for those organisations, such as a named buyer, employee, director or contact person.

We use that information to manage the commercial relationship, process orders, communicate, maintain records and protect our legitimate business interests.

Information about a company that does not identify an individual is not normally personal data. However, we treat non-public commercial information such as private wholesale pricing, agreed terms and other confidential partner information with appropriate care and only use or disclose it where necessary or permitted by the relevant commercial arrangement.

7. Who We Share Personal Information With

We may share personal information where necessary with:

  • Shopify, which hosts and operates the ecommerce platform and related services used by our store;

  • payment providers and financial institutions involved in processing transactions;

  • couriers, postal operators and fulfilment providers that require information to deliver orders;

  • retailers, suppliers and Shopify Collective partners where information is required to fulfil, reconcile, support or administer an order or commercial relationship;

  • technology, hosting, security, analytics, review and customer-service providers supporting our website and operations;

  • professional advisers, such as accountants, insurers or legal advisers, where necessary; and

  • regulators, law-enforcement bodies, courts or other authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by law.

We only disclose personal information that is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

8. Shopify and Shopify Network Intelligence

Our store is powered by Shopify. Shopify collects and processes information about your access to and use of Shopify-powered services in order to provide, secure and improve those services.

We also use Shopify features that may use information about interactions with our store together with information from interactions with Shopify and other Shopify merchants. This can include Shopify Network Intelligence and related enhanced services.

For those Shopify-controlled purposes, Shopify is responsible for its own processing of personal information.

You can learn more through the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and Shopify Privacy Portal.

Where available, you can also use the data-sharing opt-out controls provided through our website for applicable Shopify privacy choices.

9. Cookies, Analytics and Advertising

Our website and the services used to operate it may use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, security, preferences, analytics and, where enabled, advertising or personalisation.

Where UK law requires consent for non-essential cookies or similar technologies, we rely on consent and provide appropriate privacy choices.

You can change available cookie and privacy preferences through the controls provided on the website.

10. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers, including Shopify and other technology providers, may process personal information outside the United Kingdom.

Where UK data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we rely on an applicable lawful transfer mechanism, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or another legally recognised safeguard as appropriate.

11. How Long We Keep Personal Information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to fulfil orders, provide support, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and protect legitimate business interests.

Order, payment-status and accounting records may be kept for the period required by UK tax and accounting law, which is commonly around six years.

Customer-service and complaint records are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with the matter and any related legal issues.

Marketing information is kept until you opt out, withdraw consent or it is no longer reasonably required.

Personal information received solely for retailer or Shopify Collective fulfilment is not retained for unrelated marketing and is kept only for fulfilment, support, accounting, legal and legitimate business-record purposes.

12. Your UK Data Protection Rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • ask for access to personal information we hold about you;

  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;

  • ask us to erase personal information where the law gives you that right;

  • ask us to restrict how we use your information;

  • receive certain information in a portable format;

  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;

  • object at any time to the use of your personal information for direct marketing; and

  • withdraw consent at any time where our processing is based on consent.

These rights are not absolute and can depend on the lawful basis and circumstances of the processing.

To exercise a right, email shop@precisionmilitaryemblems.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

13. Complaints

If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so that we can try to resolve the issue.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s independent data protection regulator.

Information about making a complaint is available at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.

14. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the information we handle.

No online system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information through insecure communication channels unless it is necessary.

15. Automated Decision-Making

Precision Military Emblems does not itself use customer personal information to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Shopify, payment providers or fraud-prevention services may use automated tools as part of their own security and fraud-prevention processes, subject to their own privacy notices and applicable law.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our services, technology, business relationships or legal requirements.

When we make changes, we will update the date shown at the top of this policy and provide any additional notice required by law.
