About the Badge

The cap badge draws on the heritage of several historical East of England regiments. The base is an Eight-Pointed Star, adapted from the cap badge of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment. Mounted at the centre is a gold Castle of Gibraltar with three turrets, representing the regiment's historical links inherited from the Suffolk, Northampton, and Essex Regiments. Hanging centrally from the main gateway of the castle is a Key — a further reference to the Siege of Gibraltar. At the base, a downward-curving Scroll bears the inscription “ROYAL ANGLIAN”.
