Official MOD-Licensed Display Piece
The Royal Corps of Signals was formed in 1920, evolving from the signals sections of the Royal Engineers to become the British Army's specialist communications corps. From the battlefields of the Second World War to the mountains of Afghanistan and every theatre in between, Royal Signals personnel — known as "Scaleybacks" — have provided the vital communications infrastructure that keeps the Army connected and operational. This precision-printed King's Crown display frame faithfully reproduces the Corps' iconic insignia in full colour, ready to hang and display with pride.

About the Badge
Affectionately known as “Jimmy”, the cap badge centres on Mercury — the Roman messenger of the gods — depicted as a figure holding a Caduceus (herald's staff) in his left hand with his right hand raised aloft, symbolising speed and global communications. Mercury stands with one foot poised upon a Globe, representing the worldwide reach of the Corps' communication network. Immediately above the globe, a Scroll bears the Corps' Latin motto “Certa Cito” — Swift and Sure. The entire emblem is surmounted by the King's Crown (Tudor Crown), representing service during the reign of His Majesty King Charles III.
