About the Badge
The RTR cap badge, in continuous use since 1923, comprises four distinct elements. At its centre is a side-profile Mark I Tank, honouring the Heavy Branch of the Machine Gun Corps and the birth of armoured warfare in the First World War. The tank is encircled by a Laurel Wreath, symbolising honour and victory in battle. Surmounting the wreath is the King's Crown (Tudor Crown), representing service during the reign of His Majesty King Charles III. At the base, a Scroll bears the regiment's famous motto “FEAR NAUGHT”.
