The 9th/12th Royal Lancers (Prince of Wales's) was formed in 1960 by the amalgamation of the 9th Queen's Royal Lancers and the 12th Royal Lancers (Prince of Wales's). It served with the British Army until 2015, when it was merged with The Queen's Royal Lancers to form The Royal Lancers.

This display features a precision reproduction of the distinctive 9th/12th Royal Lancers cap badge, presented within a premium deep box frame against a professionally pigment-printed regimental backing. The badge and backing are carefully hand mounted, with each finished display individually assembled in Leicestershire.

The 9th/12th Royal Lancers (Prince of Wales's) cap badge features two crossed lances with pennons, with a Queen's Crown between them. Below are the Prince of Wales's feathers, inherited from the 12th Lancers, and a scroll inscribed with the Roman numerals IX–XII.
