About the Badge

The National Army Museum's record of an other-ranks' Cheshire Regiment cap badge, c.1914, describes an eight-pointed star around a band inscribed with the unit title, with an acorn between oak leaves within the band. NAM records that the acorn and oak leaves are believed to have been granted by King George III following the regiment's service at Dettingen in 1743.
