About the Badge
Celebrate the heritage of The Gordon Highlanders with this officially licensed Cap Badge Display Frame. The regiment was formed in 1881 by the amalgamation of the 75th (Stirlingshire) Regiment of Foot and the 92nd (Gordon Highlanders) Regiment of Foot, and served until 1994 when it amalgamated with The Queen’s Own Highlanders (Seaforth and Camerons) to form The Highlanders (Seaforth, Gordons and Camerons).
This framed display reproduces the distinctive heraldic elements of The Gordon Highlanders cap badge in a full-colour commemorative presentation, set against a professionally pigment-printed regimental backing inside a premium deep box display frame. The badge and backing are carefully hand mounted, with each finished display individually assembled in Leicestershire and ready to hang straight from the box.
The Gordon Highlanders adopted the crest of the Dukes of Gordon as their cap badge. It features a stag’s head issuing from a ducal coronet, surrounded by a wreath of ivy representing the Gordon family. Beneath is the distinctive BYDAND scroll. Bydand is a Scots word meaning “steadfast”, reflecting the regiment’s long-standing motto and identity.
