About the Badge
Celebrate the heritage of the Household Cavalry with this officially licensed Household Cavalry Queen's Crown Cap Badge Display Frame.
The Household Cavalry comprises The Life Guards and The Blues and Royals, the two most senior regiments in the British Army. Today its soldiers serve within the Household Cavalry Regiment, performing the operational armoured-reconnaissance role, and the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, carrying out mounted ceremonial duties.
This display features a precision high-definition reproduction of the Household Cavalry Queen's Crown Cap Badge against a professionally pigment-printed Household Division Colours backing. The badge and backing are carefully hand mounted, with each finished display individually assembled in Leicestershire.
The Household Cavalry cap badge was introduced in 1913 and its Royal Cypher changes with the Sovereign. The badge carries the Garter motto Honi soit qui mal y pense. British Army records confirm that all ranks of The Life Guards and The Blues and Royals wear the Household Cavalry cap badge on the forage cap, while their separate regimental badges are worn on the service dress cap and beret. This Queen's Crown version carries the cypher and St Edward's Crown associated with the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.
