About the Badge

The King's Own Royal Border Regiment cap badge unites the proud histories of its two antecedent regiments in a single striking design. At its centre sits the Lion of England — a Royal Lion statant guardant — representing the King's Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster). Encircling the lion is a Laurel Wreath, honouring the 34th (Cumberland) Regiment of Foot, part of the former Border Regiment, for their distinguished actions at the Battle of Fontenoy in 1745.
