Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry Cap Badge Display Frame
Official MOD-Licensed Military Display Piece

Celebrate the distinguished heritage of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, widely known as the Ox & Bucks, with this officially licensed Cap Badge Display Frame.

Formed on 1 July 1881 as the Oxfordshire Light Infantry, the regiment brought together the 43rd (Monmouthshire) Regiment of Foot (Light Infantry) and the 52nd (Oxfordshire) Regiment of Foot (Light Infantry). In 1908, Buckinghamshire was added to the regimental title. Through the 43rd and 52nd, the regiment inherited a distinguished Light Infantry tradition stretching back into the 18th century, including celebrated service during the Peninsular War and at Waterloo.

The Ox & Bucks became particularly renowned for its role in airborne operations during the Second World War. In the opening minutes of D-Day, 6 June 1944, men of the 2nd Battalion landed by Horsa glider to seize the bridges over the Caen Canal and River Orne, helping secure the eastern flank of the Allied landings. In 1958 the regiment became 1st Green Jackets (43rd and 52nd), and in 1966 part of the Royal Green Jackets, with that lineage passing into The Rifles in 2007.

This precision display frame faithfully reproduces the distinctive Ox & Bucks strung bugle-horn cap badge in authentic colours, hand-finished and ready to hang straight from the box.

About the Badge

The cap badge of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry is based around the traditional strung bugle horn, one of the most recognisable symbols of British Light Infantry. The distinctive badge features a bugle suspended from an elaborate cord, tied into three prominent loops above the horn, with cords descending towards the bugle and terminating in tassels. The bugle horn has a long association with British Light Infantry, where bugle calls provided an effective means of communicating orders across the battlefield in more dispersed formations. The badge carries no Royal Crown, regimental title scroll or lettering — the strung bugle horn itself provides the regimental identity.

Frequently Asked Questions

At Precision Military Emblems, our military badges and emblems are produced using advanced precision 3D printing technology to create highly detailed reproductions of military insignia. Unlike many manufacturers who prioritise speed, we use refined print settings and slower production processes to minimise visible layer lines and maximise accuracy. Each badge is carefully finished and quality inspected to ensure exceptional detail, depth, and definition.

When choosing a 3D military display, it is important to consider the accuracy of the badge reproduction, the quality of the craftsmanship, and the materials used throughout the display. Look for highly detailed reproductions rather than mass-produced replicas. You should also ensure the manufacturer is authorised to reproduce military insignia where required. Precision Military Emblems operates under official Ministry of Defence (MOD) licensing where applicable, ensuring displays are produced responsibly and to a professional standard.

All Precision Military Emblems displays are individually made to order. Standard production lead times are typically 5–10 working days before dispatch. Because we use precision 3D printing with enhanced quality settings, production takes longer than many standard manufacturing methods. Once dispatched, UK orders are usually delivered within 1–3 working days. Tracking information is provided with every order.
