About the Badge
The Royal Engineers cap badge features a crowned Garter belt encircling the Royal Cypher, surmounted by the Queen's Crown. The Garter belt bears the motto "Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense" (Shame on him who thinks evil of it), and a scroll at the base carries the corps motto "Ubique" (Everywhere) — a reference to the Engineers' presence on every battlefield. The Queen's Crown reflects the post-1953 design worn until 2024.
