Royal Irish Regiment King's Crown Cap Badge | Silver & Black
Official MOD-Licensed Military Display Piece

Commemorate the service and heritage of The Royal Irish Regiment with this officially licensed King's Crown Cap Badge, precision 3D printed and finished in Silver & Black. The Regiment was formed on 1 July 1992 through the amalgamation of The Royal Irish Rangers and The Ulster Defence Regiment, bringing together the distinguished traditions and histories of both regiments and their antecedents.

This precision display piece faithfully reproduces the King's Crown-era cap badge of The Royal Irish Regiment — a Maid of Erin-style Irish harp surmounted by the Tudor Crown. The sculpted female figure forms part of the harp itself, with the wing, strings and Crown creating one of the most recognisable Irish regimental badges in the British Army.

About the Badge

The cap badge of The Royal Irish Regiment centres upon a distinctive Maid of Erin-style harp, surmounted by the Tudor Crown — the King's Crown form used prior to the accession of Queen Elizabeth II. The female figure is incorporated into the structure of the harp, with her wing forming the upper section above the individually represented strings.

The design has a direct historical lineage through The Ulster Defence Regiment to The Royal Ulster Rifles, both of which used closely related harp-and-crown insignia. The King's Crown variant represents the earlier form of this badge, worn by the antecedent regiments before the transition to the Queen's Crown following the accession of 1952.

This Silver & Black display version highlights the sculpted Tudor Crown, Maid of Erin figure, wing and harp strings while retaining the instantly recognisable character of the regimental insignia.

Frequently Asked Questions

At Precision Military Emblems, our military badges and emblems are produced using advanced precision 3D printing technology to create highly detailed reproductions of military insignia. Unlike many manufacturers who prioritise speed, we use refined print settings and slower production processes to minimise visible layer lines and maximise accuracy. Each badge is carefully finished and quality inspected to ensure exceptional detail, depth, and definition.

When choosing a 3D military display, it is important to consider the accuracy of the badge reproduction, the quality of the craftsmanship, and the materials used throughout the display. Look for highly detailed reproductions rather than mass-produced replicas. You should also ensure the manufacturer is authorised to reproduce military insignia where required. Precision Military Emblems operates under official Ministry of Defence (MOD) licensing where applicable, ensuring displays are produced responsibly and to a professional standard.

All Precision Military Emblems displays are individually made to order. Standard production lead times are typically 5–10 working days before dispatch. Because we use precision 3D printing with enhanced quality settings, production takes longer than many standard manufacturing methods. Once dispatched, UK orders are usually delivered within 1–3 working days. Tracking information is provided with every order.
