As the largest corps in the British Army, the RLC is responsible for the vital logistic support that keeps the Army operational — from supply and transport to postal services and pioneer tasks. About the Badge
The RLC cap badge was designed to honour the heritage of all five forming corps. At its centre sits a Shield bearing three cannons and three cannonballs, inherited from the Royal Army Ordnance Corps. The shield is framed by a Laurel Wreath and Garter Band, originating from the Royal Engineers Postal and Courier Service. Behind these elements sits an Eight-Pointed Star (the Brunswick or Indian Star), adopted from the Royal Corps of Transport. Crossed Axes at the base represent the pioneer heritage of the Royal Pioneer Corps. The whole design is surmounted by the Queen's Crown (St. Edward's Crown), representing service during the reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
