Royal Regiment of Artillery King's Crown Full Colour Cap Badge Display Frame
Official MOD-Licensed Military Display Piece

Celebrate the proud heritage of the Royal Regiment of Artillery with this officially licensed King's Crown Full Colour Cap Badge Display Frame.

The Royal Regiment of Artillery was formed on 26 May 1716, when two permanent companies of artillery were established at Woolwich by Royal Warrant of King George I. As one of the oldest and most distinguished regiments in the British Army, the Royal Regiment has provided artillery support and specialist firepower for more than three centuries, adapting continuously to meet the changing demands of warfare.

From the War of the Austrian Succession and the Napoleonic Wars to the Crimean War, the First and Second World Wars, the Falklands, the Gulf War, Iraq and Afghanistan, the Royal Regiment of Artillery has played a decisive role in almost every major British military campaign. Today, the Regiment delivers close support artillery, deep fires, air defence, surveillance, target acquisition and precision fires capabilities, remaining an essential component of the British Army's modern fighting force.

Unlike most regiments, the Royal Regiment of Artillery does not carry individual battle honours. Instead, it was granted the motto Ubique (“Everywhere”) by King William IV in 1832, recognising its service in virtually every campaign fought by the British Army. Together with its second motto, Quo Fas et Gloria Ducunt (“Where Right and Glory Lead”), these honours reflect the Regiment’s remarkable history of continuous service and operational excellence.

This display frame features the King’s Crown pattern of the Royal Regiment of Artillery cap badge, reflecting the official design introduced following the accession of His Majesty King Charles III and the reintroduction of the Tudor Crown to British military insignia. While the overall badge design remains unchanged, the crown has been updated to represent the reigning Sovereign, continuing a centuries-old British military tradition.

About the Badge

The Royal Regiment of Artillery cap badge depicts a 9-pounder muzzle-loading gun, one of the Regiment’s most enduring symbols and a reminder of its long history as the British Army’s artillery arm. The gun represents the Regiment’s unwavering commitment to providing accurate and decisive fire support wherever British soldiers serve.

Above the gun sits the King’s Crown (Tudor Crown), identifying this as the current pattern of the cap badge introduced following the accession of His Majesty King Charles III. The reintroduction of the Tudor Crown continues the long-established tradition of British military insignia reflecting the reigning Sovereign while preserving the Regiment’s historic badge design.

The upper scroll bears the motto Ubique, meaning “Everywhere”. Granted in 1832, it serves in place of individual battle honours, recognising the Royal Regiment of Artillery’s service in virtually every campaign fought by the British Army.

The lower scroll carries the Regiment’s second motto, Quo Fas et Gloria Ducunt, translated as “Where Right and Glory Lead”. Together, these two mottos symbolise more than three centuries of professionalism, courage and dedicated service, making the Royal Regiment of Artillery cap badge one of the most recognisable and respected insignia in the British Army.

Frequently Asked Questions

At Precision Military Emblems, our military badges and emblems are produced using advanced precision 3D printing technology to create highly detailed reproductions of military insignia. Unlike many manufacturers who prioritise speed, we use refined print settings and slower production processes to minimise visible layer lines and maximise accuracy. Each badge is carefully finished and quality inspected to ensure exceptional detail, depth, and definition.

When choosing a 3D military display, it is important to consider the accuracy of the badge reproduction, the quality of the craftsmanship, and the materials used throughout the display. Look for highly detailed reproductions rather than mass-produced replicas. You should also ensure the manufacturer is authorised to reproduce military insignia where required. Precision Military Emblems operates under official Ministry of Defence (MOD) licensing where applicable, ensuring displays are produced responsibly and to a professional standard.

All Precision Military Emblems displays are individually made to order. Standard production lead times are typically 5–10 working days before dispatch. Because we use precision 3D printing with enhanced quality settings, production takes longer than many standard manufacturing methods. Once dispatched, UK orders are usually delivered within 1–3 working days. Tracking information is provided with every order.
