About the Badge

The cap badge of the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment is a masterful heraldic amalgamation of its two parent regiments' most distinctive insignia, worn with pride from 1970 to 2007.

  • The 8-Pointed Star: A rayed star forms the large backing plate of the badge, taken directly from the Worcestershire Regiment's historic insignia.
  • The Maltese Cross: Sitting centrally over the star, the cross with ball-tipped arms is a signature element drawn from the Sherwood Foresters badge.
  • The Garter: At the very centre lies a garter bearing the Royal motto Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense ("Shame on him who thinks evil of it"), originating from the Worcestershire Regiment's royal association.
  • The Lodged Stag: Resting in the voided centre of the garter is a lodged (sitting) stag, symbolising the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire heritage of the Sherwood Foresters.
  • The "FIRM" Motto: Positioned at the very bottom between the lower points of the star, a tablet bears the word FIRM — a celebrated motto carried forward from the Worcestershire Regiment.

The full colour finish brings every layer of this rich heraldic composition to life in vivid gold, silver, red and green tones.

Frequently Asked Questions

At Precision Military Emblems, our military badges and emblems are produced using advanced precision 3D printing technology to create highly detailed reproductions of military insignia. Unlike many manufacturers who prioritise speed, we use refined print settings and slower production processes to minimise visible layer lines and maximise accuracy. Each badge is carefully finished and quality inspected to ensure exceptional detail, depth, and definition.

When choosing a 3D military display, it is important to consider the accuracy of the badge reproduction, the quality of the craftsmanship, and the materials used throughout the display. Look for highly detailed reproductions rather than mass-produced replicas. You should also ensure the manufacturer is authorised to reproduce military insignia where required. Precision Military Emblems operates under official Ministry of Defence (MOD) licensing where applicable, ensuring displays are produced responsibly and to a professional standard.

All Precision Military Emblems displays are individually made to order. Standard production lead times are typically 5–10 working days before dispatch. Because we use precision 3D printing with enhanced quality settings, production takes longer than many standard manufacturing methods. Once dispatched, UK orders are usually delivered within 1–3 working days. Tracking information is provided with every order.
