Official MOD-Licensed Military Heritage Display Piece

Celebrate the proud heritage of the 14th/20th King's Hussars with this officially licensed Cap Badge Display Frame. Universally known as "The Hawk", the Prussian Eagle badge was awarded in 1798 to the regiment's predecessor, the 14th Light Dragoons, by Crown Princess Frederica of Prussia in gratitude for their escort to England for her marriage to the Duke of York. One of the most distinctive and historically significant badges in the British Army, it has been worn with pride ever since.

This precision display frame faithfully reproduces the 14th/20th King's Hussars' distinctive cap badge in full colour, hand-finished in authentic regimental colours and ready to hang straight from the box.

About the Badge

The 14th/20th King's Hussars cap badge — universally known as "The Hawk" — centres on the Prussian Eagle, depicted with extended wings and turned to its right (heraldic dexter). The eagle is crowned, symbolising royal favour, and holds a sceptre in its right claw and an orb in its left — the full regalia of sovereignty. A distinctive clover-leaf motif is detailed on both wings. The badge was awarded to the 14th Light Dragoons in 1798 by Crown Princess Frederica of Prussia, making it one of the most storied emblems in British cavalry tradition. The regiment carried the "King's" designation from the 14th King's Hussars, one of the two founding regiments of the 1922 amalgamation.

Frequently Asked Questions

At Precision Military Emblems, our military badges and emblems are produced using advanced precision 3D printing technology to create highly detailed reproductions of military insignia. Unlike many manufacturers who prioritise speed, we use refined print settings and slower production processes to minimise visible layer lines and maximise accuracy. Each badge is carefully finished and quality inspected to ensure exceptional detail, depth, and definition.

When choosing a 3D military display, it is important to consider the accuracy of the badge reproduction, the quality of the craftsmanship, and the materials used throughout the display. Look for highly detailed reproductions rather than mass-produced replicas. You should also ensure the manufacturer is authorised to reproduce military insignia where required. Precision Military Emblems operates under official Ministry of Defence (MOD) licensing where applicable, ensuring displays are produced responsibly and to a professional standard.

All Precision Military Emblems displays are individually made to order. Standard production lead times are typically 5–10 working days before dispatch. Because we use precision 3D printing with enhanced quality settings, production takes longer than many standard manufacturing methods. Once dispatched, UK orders are usually delivered within 1–3 working days. Tracking information is provided with every order.
