In 1936, the honorific “King's” was reintroduced to its title. The regiment served with the Royal Armoured Corps and existed until 1992, when it amalgamated with The Royal Hussars (Prince of Wales's Own) to form The King's Royal Hussars.

About the Badge

The 14th/20th King's Hussars cap badge centres on the Prussian eagle, also known as “The Hawk”. The 14th escorted Crown Princess Frederica of Prussia from Dover to London in 1791 ahead of her marriage to Frederick, Duke of York; seven years later, in 1798, the regiment was named after her and granted the Prussian eagle as its cap badge. The emblem was carried forward by the 14th/20th King's Hussars.
