About the Badge
The RLC cap badge is a composite design incorporating elements from its five founding corps: the central shield from the Royal Army Ordnance Corps, the surrounding laurel and Garter band from the Royal Engineers bearing the motto "Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense", crossed axes from the Royal Pioneer Corps, the Brunswick star from the Royal Corps of Transport, and the motto "We Sustain" from the Army Catering Corps. The Queen's Crown sits at the top, reflecting the post-1953 design worn until 2024.
